Color Scientists!

Kids wore red goggles and experimented using different colored markers. The markers they chose wearing the goggles were not what they expected! Then the scientists decorated their own goggles to keep!

Word Work

Word work is a fun literacy activity in our classroom! These kids are practicing writing letters we've been learning how to make correctly and then "stamping" them too!

Read To Self

Every day kids get their book bag filled with books that they can read all by themselves,  and sit in a comfy spot to read. While they are enjoying their books, they are also practicing reading skills and strategies in books that are not too hard.

Color Science

Mrs. Dorer came into our classroom today to teach us about color. We all get to do 3 different experiments while we explore color.

Math Explorations!

Kids have been using geoboards, polygons, unifix cubes, pattern blocks and other math materials this week. They are also learning to share, use the materials respectfully and clean up before they choose a new activity.

First Days of First Grade

We have been together for 4 days now and everyone has already learned so much! We have been working all week on being kind and caring to others, helping one another, using materials respectfully and then putting them away, and giving each other compliments. We have also read stories, written about our families, drew a family portrait, studied patterns on our class calendar, counted the number of days in the month, and many other things too. Your kids wanted me to tell you that we learned about a hard word today: symmetrical See if your child can tell you what it means! We look forward to seeing your kids again next week!
