National Symbols Day
We learned about many of our national symbols- the bald eagle, the White House, and the Statue of Liberty. We discovered the 7 points on Liberty's crown stand for our 7 continents.

Farm Play!
We performed our farm play for our families today! It was such fun! Then we shared our farm work that we have done. It was a great day!

Chemists At Work
Mrs. Dorer came to our classroom today to make oobleck with us, just like in the Dr. Seuss book Bartholomew and the Oobleck. We got to bring it home!

Geometry
Our math workplaces are all about geometry this month. Kids are making triangular prisms, learning coordinates, and playing games with shapes.

Scientists at Work
First graders planted herbs, fruits and vegetables and flowers from seeds a few weeks ago. Now they are making scientific observations and doing scientific drawings of their seedlings.

Writers Hard at Work
Kids were writing about the farm today. They had to choose their favorite farm animal and write how that animal helps the farmer on the farm.

Growing Plants
A few weeks ago we planted flowers, herbs and vegetables from seeds. The flowers are beginning to sprout in our outdoor window boxes and the herbs and vegetables are in little cups are on our windowsill. We check them everyday and water them often.
