Our Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

Pumpkin Pie  by Nathan
Ingredients:
whipped cream, pie crust, pumpkins
Directions:
Bake crust. Put in pumpkin. Bake. Put whipped cream on.
Serves: 8

Turkey with Corn by Mikey
Ingredients:
corn, turkey, butter, salt, a grill
Directions:
Cook the turkey for 64 hours. Then take the corn and put the salt on the corn and put the corn in the turkey.
Serves: Infinity and 10-2,000

Corn by Emily
Ingredients: corn, butter
Directions: Buy the corn, then cook it in the oven, Put it in the oven for 25 minutes. Take it out and eat it.
Serves: 6

Turkey Sauce and Pepper by Boden
Ingredients: turkey, sauce, pepper
Directions: Put the turkey in the oven for 5 hours. Then put the sauce on the turkey and the pepper.
Serves: 10

Pecan Pie by Kyle
Ingredients:  sugar, dough, 100 pecans, crust
Directions:  I put it in a batter then put it in the oven then cool.
Serves: 8

Birthday Cake by Saimya
Ingredients:  cake batter, egg, milk, water, sugar
Directions:  Put it in the oven for 20 minutes. And I would cut a piece for everyone.

Fruit With Ice Cream by Liliana
Ingredients: blueberries, ice cream, strawberries, grapes, watermelon
Directions: Two scoops of ice cream. Cut watermelon. Put it in. Whole grapes. Blueberries. Cut the top off of the strawberries. Put it in a separate thing. You are done.
Serves: 20

Turkey in Cranberry Sauce by Christopher
Ingredients: 1 turkey, cranberries
Directions:  Put bones and cranberries and get light brown stuff and get dark brown stuff and mix it to make turkey.
Serves: 3

Pizza by Coryana
Ingredients:  dough, sauce, pepperoni, cheese
Directions: First you put the dough on plastic. Then put the sauce on the dough and the cheese and pepperoni and put it in the oven.

Chocolate Turkey by Catherine (not a real turkey)
Ingredients: 10 scoops of chocolate, shape it like a turkey
Directions: Put it in the oven for 10 minutes.
Serves: 20

Ingredients:  salt, pepperoni, cheese, sugar
Directions: First, put pepperoni inside the oven and then put cheese. Bake and then put sugar in and then put salt.

Ingredients: potatoes, vegetables, butter, chocolate, eggs
Directions: Mash the potatoes. Put the vegetables in. Put the chocolate in. Put the eggs in.

Ingredients: veggies, meat or beans, cut up tomatoes, salsa, love
Directions: Cut the veggies. Stir them in a pot then put the meat or beans in the put cut up tomatoes and salsa with love.

Ingredients: chocolate, turkey, butter, 1 quarter and a half of milk, melted butter, love, sugar, pepper
Directions: First after you got the ingredients put it in the oven for 35 minutes.

Ingredients: frosting, sprinkles, chocolate, cherry, pot
Directions: First get the pot. Then the cupcake, then the oven. Set it for 5 minutes.

Directions: Put the turkey in the oven for 1 and 10 minutes.

Chocolate Mashed Potatoes by Erin
Ingredients: potatoes, chocolate
Directions: Put it in a bowl and mash the chocolate and then put it in the oven.

New Math Workplaces

Kids are really having fun with our new workplaces! These games help kids count coins, add coins, count by 5's and 10's, compare numbers and trade coins.

Thank You!

We had our first round of conferences yesterday. Thanks to all of the families who came to talk about their child's progress! Parents took home information about reading strategies to help their kids while they are reading at home. I look forward to seeing the rest of you in early December.

Daily 5

Every day while some kids are meeting in reading groups others are engaged in a variety of literacy games and activities. These activities allow kids to practice using their literacy skills in meaningful, fun ways.

Feeling Thankful

We read a book about feeling thankful for things every day like our families, homes, friends, nature-and then we wrote things we are thankful for and hung them on our giving thanks tree.

Our pumpkin seeds have sprouted inside our little pumpkins! We check them every day and water them a few times a week.

Halloween Festivities!

Thanks so much to Liliana's mom, Catherine's mom, Mikey's mom and Bella's mom for making awesome Halloween projects with us! Kids had such fun making skeletons, pumpkins, witches and vampires! Then we got dressed up in our costumes and paraded around the bus loop! It was a great day.
