Measuring In First Grade
We are learning about measurement-comparing lengths, using popsicle sticks and unifix cubes to explore non standard units of measure and learning why a standard unit of measure is important.
Listen to a story we read about a king who uses his own feet to measure a bed for the queen:

Scientists in the Garden
Our class visited the garden with Miss Siperstein's class on Friday. We took clipboards and pencils and kids made scientific observations about what they saw. Everyone did a great job exploring and studying our fall garden!

We Are Authors
Kids are learning to write narrative stories we also call small moments. Their stories include characters, a setting, feelings, a beginning middle and end and are written in sequential order. Kids' writing is getting really good! They feel like real authors!
