Welcome back to school in the New Year! What a great week we have had together! First graders came back to school ready to learn and have been working hard all week. Everyone is a bit more mature, a lot more helpful and kind to one another and quite a bit more independent. It's great to see how much your kids have grown since September.
I want to thank all of our families for the wonderful, generous gifts you gave to me and to our class last month. We have already used the weather book and both the penguin book and the seed growing book will be part of our late winter/early spring discussions. Thank you, too, for the gift cards-Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite destinations, and the garden journal will be great to use when we can get back outside and watch our bulbs pop out of the ground!
Most of all I am appreciative of the children in my care-the ones you have entrusted to us each day at school. They are such a pleasure to spend the days with! I hope you are seeing growth at home like we are here in the classroom.
